Third camping trip of the year: A week of many shifts!

Third camping trip of the year: A week of many shifts!

We just got back from our third camping trip of the year (June 9-16) and I know I said that the last one was one of the best weeks of my life well now i’m going to say that this one was! Every new camping experience seems to be better than the last & after over a month of no camping due to having too many photography projects and editing to do, this last trip couldn’t have come soon enough…

A Week of Pure Inspiration

A Week of Pure Inspiration

We arrived on the Saturday and besides just a couple of other campers we were the only ones there but by the following Monday we had the space completely to ourselves again, I just couldn't believe how perfect it all was. It's such a different experience when you can just be where you are rather than having to hike somewhere before you are not surrounded by people and there was just something so magical about being there completely on our own, we were able to feel & connect with the landscape differently, we became acquainted with everything that surrounded us such as the trees, the plants, the animals & insects in such a deeper way…

Camping season has begun!

Camping season has begun!

We just had our very first camping trip of the year last week on March 22 when the campsite which had pretty much become our second home last summer opened up for the season. I haven’t had the chance to write about it until now because as soon as we got back I was inspired to create a new wall hanging, a weave using a fallen branch that I had found as my loom and now that it’s finished I can finally reminisce about our short but perfect little break away from it all…

Reunited with her Tomato

Reunited with her Tomato

This past Sunday Nixie got reunited with her sweet Tomato. Ever since the last time she got to ride her she hasn't stopped talking about her. Everyday, several times a day, she gets sad and says to me, “I miss tomato, luv her, want to riiiide her, cuddle her” and at other times she'll be reminiscing about tomato and in a happy voice will say, “ride tomato, i running!!” Her love for her new friend is really one of the sweetest things I've seen…

Nixie's first ever horse riding experience!

Nixie's first ever horse riding experience!

Oh my GOSH! What an incredible weekend! We spent it at the stables in Brockenhurst where Nixie got to have her first horseback riding experience. I had called the number I was given on the day me and Nixie were playing in the puddles on Balmer's Lawn and they told me if a helmet fits she can have a go. And thankfully Nixie fit into the smallest helmet they had…

Holland's Wood Wandering

Holland's Wood Wandering

What an incredible day me and Nixie have had. I woke up feeling pretty rough, I had barely gotten any sleep, Nixie kept me up most of the night, wanting to nurse all of the time. She hasn’t been very well these past few days dealing with a cold that’s been wearing her out. Right after I woke up this morning I felt the strongest pull to go to the woods, i thought being outside would be good for both of us. Whenever i feel a bit low, I know that the best place for me is the woods. It always restores me in some way and gives me exactly what i need…

Our New Life in the New Forest

Our New Life in the New Forest

These past couple of months have brought with them so many life changes. We relocated from the busy city of London where our everyday environment consisted of lots of cars, busses, fumes, buildings, pavements, ambulance sirens, noise and people rushing around in too much of a hurry to even say hello, to country life in the New Forest where our everyday consists of horses, cows, donkeys, forests, heathlands, fields, seaside, woodland streams and birdsong…
