You (Forrest) and I actually woke up before your sister at 6:15, and you were in the happiest of moods giving me your gorgeous smile that always make your eyes sparkle even though you had leaked the bed. I had to wait until Nixie woke up until I could change the sheets. I can't believe how big you are getting! Just this past weekend your cousin Laura lent us Theo's old jumparoo which you absolutely loved so we brought it home with us.  You are so into being upright that it seemed the perfect thing for you and you enjoyed being in it for a little bit before wanting to be in my lap where you could giggle some more until you needed some boob.

Nixie came downstairs just after 7 and then it was a rush to get breakfast and get ready. We had plans to leave at 8:30 to slowly (Nixie wanted to ride her scooter) make our way to meet our new friends Kate & Winnie at Goodall's strawberry farm for 9:30.  Close to 8:00 you were ready for your nap so I put you in the wrap.

You (Nixie) were so excited to ride your scooter all the way there and you are already getting so good at it!  We had to make so many stops along the way so that you could smell flowers or just to get a closer look at them. Forrest didn't stay asleep very long and once we arrived he was wide awake so I got him out of the wrap and then decided to put him back in but facing outwards so that he could be involved with everything going on. As soon as Kate and Winnie arrived Forrest couldn't stop smiling at them,  it was really so sweet.  You immediately ran up to Winnie who's about 2 years younger than you and the two of you went off to explore and play in the sand box while us mummas ordered a couple of latte's. You couldn't wait to go pick our strawberries so soon after off we all went to fill up our baskets with the yummiest red juicy fruit. It was during this point when Forrest finally fell asleep  so I turned him around in the wrap with the hope that he'd go into a super deep sleep which he did!

When we finished picking we went back to our table where I finished my coffee and you managed to sneak 2 sugar cubes! And oh my the sugar rush kicked in almost immediately and you started getting a bit giddy. When it was time to leave you weren't very happy about it whatsoever, but you begrudgingly let me put on your helmet and walked out friends to their car.  On our way out you fell and scraped your elbow which really made you cry and you continued to cry for at least a good 10/15 minutes but not just because you had hurt yourself but because you didn't want to leave Winnie and the farm.  You told me you loved her.  I love how you just love so deeply and so quickly sometimes! Through your tears you managed to tell me that strawberries with milk would make you feel better so I promised that as soon as we got home we would have just that.

On our way home we made an impromptu stop at the library and you chose 4 books.  As we were leaving Forrest woke up and started screaming,  and there was a que for checking out our books but thankfully one of the nice ladies who worked there helped us so didn't have to wait. She felt bad for us and probably for everyone else who wanted to be in peace! Forrest didn't want boob and there wasn't much I could do so I tried to just get us home asap and he exercised those lungs of his all the way home! It was pretty stressful! He just didn't want to be in the wrap because as soon as we got home and I took him out he was as happy as can be!  And you and I enjoyed our bowls of strawberries,  we ended up having seconds and ate all of them! Forrest was in his jumparoo and he actually managed to turn himself in it for the first time!

You experienced another first today: you wiped your own bum after a poo and we're super proud of yourself!  You said, "because now I'm 4, I'm a grown up!" I did check to see and you did a great job!

Eventually Forrest fell asleep again and I put him in the wrap and you and I spent such a wonderful time together! First we painted your little flower pot which was from your party bags you handed out at your party and then we spent hours doing some of your activity books and there was this one bit where you had to do some super basic math such as 1+1, 3+5 etc and you exclaimed,  "This is so fun!  I love this!" I love watching you get excited about things,  it really is one of the best things about my life!

We were chatting away and you told me about a dream you had last night about Peppa Pig world but that at first when you got there, there was only one ride,  the boat ride one and you "bumped everywhere! And how you went all on your own except for Forrest was with you… but after you had gone on that ride, three more appeared: the hot air balloon, the dinosaur ride & the caterpillar. You told me that Forrest was big then and was the same size as you and he was wearing a big fluffy dress that I bought him. I thought that sounded like a pretty cool dream!

When Forrest woke up you knew he needed his nappy changed and I was pretty impressed that you were right,  sometimes I'm pretty certain that the two of you have some sort of telepathic connection going on.  Forrest is really into eating his hand, and the amount of drool that leaves his mouth is pretty spectacular! It makes me wonder when his first tooth will make an appearance. You and I continued to play with your activity and sticker books while Forrest laid on the floor next to me and he impressed us both by being able to wiggle his way all around in a circle.

We had to clean the fishtanks for the tadpoles, it was way overdue and everytime I looked at them I would get filled with anxiety because how awful they looked so finally there was a little window where we could sort them out...well the window didn't stay open very long until Forrest became so upset and there was no soothing him, he cried inconsolably! It broke my heart but I really had to just finish cleaning their tanks otherwise they were not going to survive! After that stressful experience you lightened the mood while we also waited for dinner to be ready by showing us your new dance moves! Dinner was a success well I was able to finish eating before Forrest got upset again, the evenings are usually a bit tricky! Although you decided you no longer like peppers (even though you have always loved them!)and said that maybe you will like them "when I'm bigger". You rushed over to look at the tadpoles and became in love with this particular one and had to show me because it had a "fat head".

Before bath you did a wee and got "stuck" in the toilet and needed me to rescue you, you've been enjoying getting "stuck" on a regular basis lately!! When you were in the bath Forrest started getting really upset so I took him into the bedroom and nursed him to sleep. We had the most perfect bedtime even though he did wake back up during the first story but he wasn't upset and fell asleep while I read you the rest, you have four stories before bed now (because you are four)and once I was able to put him down you and I had the most incredible full body snuggle with your arms wrapped around me ever so tightly until you fell asleep which happened to be just before 20:00! It was perfect!

I went downstairs to have some water and shortly after Kevin came home and I made him sneak upstairs to look at the two of you asleep because it was such a beautiful sight and when he came back down the stairs he had tears down his face and said, "I love them!" I was tired so I joined you both in bed pretty much straight after!
