Nixie's first ever horse riding experience!
Oh my GOSH! What an incredible weekend! We spent it at the stables in Brockenhurst where Nixie got to have her first horseback riding experience. I had called the number I was given on the day me and Nixie were playing in the puddles on Balmer's Lawn and they told me if a helmet fits she can have a go. And thankfully Nixie fit into the smallest helmet they had. We went on sat first for just a 5 minute ride around the paddock on a horse named Tomato just to see if it was something she would like well she loved it, she seemed right in her element it was the most beautiful thing to see, I never thought watching someone else have an experience could ever bring so much joy and happiness into my heart.
When it was time to get off, she was not ready and she cried her little heart out, she did not want to leave her new friend, Tomato! After seeing her reaction we immediately booked in again to come back today but this time we booked her in for a whole hour ride in the woods completely expecting her not to be able to do more than a half hour but we were so wrong!! I think she could have easily done two hours! We went across Balmer’s Lawn and through Holland Woods campsite, it couldn’t have been more perfect, it’s our stomping grounds! She has the most amazing expression when she rides, you can see it written all over her face that she’s having a very big experience and she’s taking it all in, she gets such a serious expression and gently bites her lip and it’s just so incredibly precious to see, i will never forget these moments. She even got to trot, and this she loved more than anything and her face burst into the biggest brightest expression of absolute joy! I can’t wait for her to one day experience a gallop! She looked so grown up riding a horse, she seemed right at home as though she’s always belonged on a horse, I can’t explain it, it really has been one of the most incredible moments i’ve seen her have so far.
